Disclosure Rule Up For Vote

Assembly to vote on the declassification of government material...

Members of The South Pacific are being asked to cast their votes regarding a law, which has been under discussion for the past week, to release historical government information into the public domain...

In order for the bill to pass into law, a quorum of 14 votes is required with a minimum of 60% in favour of the bill...

Exit polls are indicating that the bill has a good chance of success, but it is anticipated that Cabinet will not rest on their laurels and will be out canvassing for the members to exercise their democratic rights and attend the Assembly to cast their ballot...

Voting is scheduled to run from today, Wednesday 17th October until Wednesday 24th October...
