Suggestions From The Grand Council

The Grand Council of the South Pacific has indeed been busy in the lead up to what could be a very interesting New Year...

There won't be a need for the making of New Years Resolutions to ensure that the discussions and subsequent analysis will be intense over such wide reaching suggestions as the separating of legislative and executive powers. The establishment of political parties is one of the more radical, if not extreme suggestions and should also provide lively debate...

Commenting about the many suggestions, Fudge (Vice President of the South Pacific) said...

"Well, there's some good stuff in it. but it needs a lot of refinement"...

Going on then to remark about "...an obvious increase in levels of interest shown by new and established members of the Community"...

Cabinet members will certainly have their work cut out for them in leading the development of these suggestions, reaching agreement with a majority and then their implementation. The next round of elections will be held towards the end of January, which always exerts its own pressures upon Cabinet and that is not to mention the work that continues in updating the regions Charter and laws...

For a full list of the suggestions that will be discussed in detail commencing on Friday 6th January 2006, please visit the South Pacific Forum by clicking on the link below...

SPOT is back, with a new editor

SPOT is happy to announce a new editor! Since Tsrill has taken up a government position, he doesn't have the time, and perhaps more importantly, the necessary independence anymore to cover the news of the south pacific. Therefore we are happy that Kloister has taken it upon him to bring you the news of The South Pacific and we welcome him heartily.
