Appeals Period

Polls Close...Election Commission Ratify Results...

The South Pacific polling stations closed at the weekend with a wimper...Voter turnout was truly abysmal and not only that but two of the five Cabinet positions will remain vacant until such time as Fudge, Regional Delegate, takes the necessary steps to make the necessary appointments...

Noises coming from inside the Election Commission suggest that there are no reasons to suspect that the results from the vote won't stand and on that premise the following members will be taking up office:

Kloister - Prime Minister (Yes 15 - 88.24% : No 2 - 11.76% : 17 Total Votes)
Eastwales - Minister of Justice (Yes 14 - 82.35% : No 3 - 17.65% : 17 Total Votes)
Geomania - Minister of Security (Yes 16 - 94.12% : No 1 - 5.88% : 17 Total Votes)
(non Cabinet) CurlyHoward - Secretary of Silly (Yes 15 - 88.24% : No 2 - 11.76% : 17 Total Votes)

The two vacant Cabinet positions are in the Ministries of the Region and Foreign Affairs, (vacated by Tsrill and Caer Rialis respectively)...The rumours will no doubt start to circulate over who the Delegate will select to take on these responsibilities...

Out of a population of 756 registered members, even allowing for the number of inactives, the voter turnout should be more around the 40-50 mark...One of the first tasks for the newly formed Cabinet will surely be to address the blatant apathy surrounding the current democratic process...Is a shake up in the offing?..It makes you question just how representative the elected Cabinet will be during the next 3 month term of office...

More soon...
