NationStates decline continues

During the course of last week, the number of nations in the South Pacific dropped for the first time in many years below 4000 nations. A weekly log shows that the population has been hovering between 4000 and 5000 nations for several months, but now the annual summer slump has apparently set in, causing a sharp drop in recent weeks. TSP population has shown an overall decline in the past year from 5084 nations in July 2006 to 3958 nations wednesday night.

This decline does not only occur in The South Pacific, since it is still the 3rd largest region in NationStates, with only The North Pacific and The West Pacific having a slightly higher population of just above 4000. It is to be expected that with the end of the summer holidays and the start of the new academic year in the northern hemisphere in late august/early september, the interest in nationstates will rise again.
